Abstract

We study Complex Adaptive Systems in which information is shared locally within a heterogeneous population of adaptive nodes ('agents') competing for a limited global resource. The emerging collective behaviour is found to depend strongly on the level of available resource, the connectivity between agents and the accuracy of information transmission. © 2006 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
