A dimensão política do trabalho do assistente social

Abstract

Este artigo analisa o trabalho do assistente social no atual contexto de mudanças do capitalismo contemporâneo, particularizando as transformações que caracterizam a esfera da produção e o mundo do trabalho, e as consequentes alterações que ocorrem, nesse contexto para as políticas sociais, âmbito privilegiado da intervenção profissional. O texto enfatiza a dimensão política do trabalho profissional na construção da hegemonia dos interesses das classes subalternas em seu trabalho cotidiano, tendo como referência principal o pensamento de Antonio Gramsci.This article analyzes the social worker's work in the current changing context of the contemporary capitalism, and it focuses on the transformations characterizing production and the labor world, as well as the resulting changes for social policies in such a context, where the professional intervention is privileged. The article emphasizes the political dimension of the professional work to build up the hegemony of the subaltern classes' interests in their daily work, and, to do that, its main reference is Antonio Gramsci's thoughts.
