Abstract

An overview of power minimization techniques employed in the IBM PowerPC 4xx embedded controllers is presented. Techniques have been described wherein a robust granular power/performance cell library has been developed and used in conjunction with algorithmic parasitic capacitance minimization and other power management techniques to produce a power efficient embedded controller.
