Abstract

A new androstane, 17β-hydroxy-androsta-4,6,15-trien-3-one (1) and a new monoterpene glucoside sinapoyl ester, (3R)-8-hydroxylinalool 3,8-di-O-β-D-(6′-O-E-sinapoyl)glucopyranoside (2) were isolated from the roots of Cynanchum amplexicaule SIEB. et ZUCC. (Asclepiadaceae), along with two known monoterpenes, (3R)-8-hydroxylinalool (3) and (6R)-menthiafolic acid (4). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of analyses of physical, chemical, and spectral data. © 2007 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
