Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by the snakes and ladders game media in improving student learning outcomes in Mathematics on the Ratio material for 6th grade students at SDN Banjarbendo. The identified problem was the low student learning outcomes (70% below the Minimum Mastery Criteria/KKM) due to a monotonous, less innovative, and teacher-centered learning model. The researcher implemented a classroom action research (CAR) over two cycles using the Kemmis & McTaggart model. The research subjects were 25 students from the 6th grade of SDN Banjarbendo. The initial action results showed a classical completeness percentage of 64% in Cycle I. Following revisions in Cycle II, the classical completeness percentage significantly increased to 84%, exceeding the 75% target. This 20% improvement indicates that the TGT model assisted by snakes and ladders successfully created a more engaging, interactive learning environment, and fostered collaboration. This study concludes that the implementation of the TGT learning model is effective in improving student learning outcomes.
