Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of the adverse drug reactions of nursing staffwhich has labour activity in paediatric and neonatal unit. Methods: This is a descriptive transversal and quantitative study, carried out with 43 professionals of the nursing staffwho work in paediatric and neonatal units of a university hospital in southern Minas Gerais. We used a questionnaire with 15 questions, the respondents in the workplace. The data were analysed and presented in tables with absolute and percentage values. Results: There was a predominance of female professional and technical nursing. Some respondents to correctly define the RAM (69.8%) reported that the RAM can be notified to all members of the health team (62.8%), whereas all reactions should be reported (83.8%) and the main factor for the occurrence of RAM in this clientele is the simultaneous use of several drugs (69.8%), 94.5% of them reported that the main approach adopted towards this event is to inform the doctor. Conclusions: The studied team has gaps in knowledge regarding RAM, so it is necessary the continuous education in health institutions.
