Abstract

Prehospital care for children is developing fast, but the backdrop on which it is doing so is changing even faster. Opportunities for allowing good care at home now exist which must be encouraged. It is important that paediatricians involve themselves in the new prehospital plans for emergency care, to ensure that children as well as adults will ultimately receive a safe, better quality care, centred round their needs.
