Abstract

Scar treatments described in the literature include chemical, physical and surgical methods. The treatment is primarily focused on prevention from the abnormal healing process of the skin, so and combination therapies are often used for this purpose. The aim of the article was to present the classification of scars and the concept of laser treatment, based on the recommendations of the International Consensus of 2020 presented by the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) and the results of scientific research. Although laser therapy is one of the most effective methods, it is not possible to unequivocally state that it is the most effective in the treatment of scars. The final effect depends on many factors, including the type and age of the scar.
