Objective: The study aim was to determine factors related to smarthphone addiction among professional nursing students in time of COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A descriptive correlational design with cross-sectional approach was applied with 106 students selected using consecutive sampling technique. The study questionnaire was Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV). Statistical tests used were independent t-test, one-way Anova, and Pearson correlation. Results: There were significant differences of smartphone addiction score based on reason to study nursing (t=-2,95; p<0,01) and purpose to use smartphone (F=2,79; p=0,03). Smartphone addiction was correlated significantly with age (r=-0,31; p<0,01) and duration of smartphone use (r=0,29; p<0,01). Conclusion: Most of the participants were addicted to smartphone. Younger students, choosing nursing education from external direction, using longer duration of smartphone, tended to overuse this device.
