Abstract

23 genera of Algae are known from Lichen thalli: 7 are Cyanophyceae, 15 are Ohlorophyceae, 1 is a Xanthophyceae. Three other genera ought to be added corresponding to the following three species, the generic belonging of which is yet uncertain: Myrmecia reticulata Tsch.-W., Trochiscia granulata Tsch. and Leptosira thrombii Tsch.-W. Most of these genera and species are also known in the free-living state but some ones however are peculiar to the Lichen thalli (g. Coccobothris, g. Hyalococcus, various species of Trebouxia, Coccomyxa and various Chlorococcales and Chaetophorales). © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
