Abstract

This research analyzes the application of circular economy (CE) concepts within strategic management for sustaining competitive advantage towards organizational development. It looks at the impact of CE strategies on organizational performance, resilience, and other areas including resource efficiency, waste minimization, and product life extension. Both a systematic review of recent literature and analyses of select case studies pertaining to different practitioners that implement the Circular Economy (CE) principles, forms a mixed approach that was adopted for this work. Data and evidence show that when decision making is CE driven from the onset, in a systematic holistic manner, productivity, environmental stewardship, and stakeholder value is maximized. Systemwide commitment from organizational leadership as well as radical cooperation at all levels is critical to the integration efforts articulated in the research.
