Abstract

Silver nanoparticles has been prepared using a green synthesis technique. The aim of this research was to synthesis silver nanoparticles using AgNO3 as precursor and star anise (Illicium verum. Hook. F) extract as a reducing agent. In this study, the influence of extract concentration to the nanosized of silver was evaluated. The obtained silver nanoparticles that obtained through green synthesis were characterized using FT-IR and XRD. The FT-IR spectrum of both concentrations exhibited similar band, i.e. C=O at 1638-1637 cm-1 and -OH at 3328-3327cm-1. The crystallographic of XRD powder analysis showed peak at 31° (111), 38° (200), 65° (202), and 78° (311). Based on this research, star anise extract showed a great potency as reducing agent to prepare synthesis silver nanoparticles.
