Abstract
In the first chapter of Searching 2.0, Michael P. Sauers describes three components defining Web 2.0: convergence, remixability and participation. He structures the remaining chapters of his book by highlighting the following assortment of Web 2.0 items: getting organized using Delicious, popular search engines (Google, LiveSearch and Yahoo), Wikipedia, searching for media, local search (maps and directions), print search (Google Book Search and Amazon's Search Inside the Book), searching the past (Google Cache, the Wayback Machine, Wikipedia page histories), OpenSearch, desktop search and data visualization. Each of these chapters contains the following sections: a brief introduction to the tool in discussion, thorough step-by-step instructions for using the tool (replete with an abundance of screenshots), a brief conclusion, and a list of exercises encouraging readers to explore each tool.
