Allowable bending stress of steel pipes

Abstract

Allowable bending stresses are not as clear for steel pipes as for steel I-sections given in the AISC Manual of Steel Construction. This article discusses requirements and allowable bending stress criteria from the 8th edition of the Manual and presents an application example.
