Las representaciones en el mundo de la vida cotidiana

Abstract

Resumen Esta investigación no se ha reducido, en el análisis, a los niveles objetivables, sino que ha inda-gado en otros; es decir, no pretendía sólo estudiar las relaciones entre los ámbitos produc-tivo, reproductivo y tiempo libre a partir de una serie de indicadores de hechos o actividades, sino también indagar en dichas relaciones en los niveles de las pautas de comportamien-to, de las actitudes y de las representaciones cognitivas. La idea de base consiste en que la vida social no sólo se libra, se construye y se realiza en el campo de las actividades objeti-vadas sino también en el de los hábitos, sean bajo la forma de actitudes o de representa-ciones. El objetivo más específico de este artículo se refiere sólo al análisis de las representaciones que la gente se hace de cada uno de los ámbitos y de su articulación en la forma de modos de representaciones o de conocimento cotidiano. Los datos para estu-diar las actitudes y las representaciones han sido obtenidos volviendo de nuevo a los encues-tados sobre la base de una muestra más reducida basada en las tipologías conseguidas en los niveles precedentes de análisis. Este artículo es parte de una investigación cuyos resultados aparecen en este mismo número de PAPERS. El artículo tiene autonomía y entidad por sí mismo pero la lectura del resto de los artículos de este número facilitará su contextualización. Abstract This research did not seek to remain at a level of analysis of social life that we have called objectifiable but ventured into another level; that is to say, it did not only seek to study the relations between the areas of production, reproduction and free time using a series of indicators of facts or activities, but also attempted to study these relations in the levels of behavioural patterns, attitudes and cognitive representations. The basic idea was that social life is not only approached, constructed and carried out in the field of the objectified activities but also in that of habits, whether in the form of attitudes or representations. The most specific objective in this article only refers to the analysis of the representations that people make of each of the areas and of their articulation in the form of ways of representation or daily knowledge. The data for studying the attitudes and representations were obtained by returning to the inter-viewees and taking a smaller sample based on the typologies obtained in the previous levels of analysis.
