Abstract

Recent taxonomic studies in the tribe Vernonieae (Asteraceae) make necessary to consider the taxonomic position of several taxa of the flora of Mexico. Accordingly, 2 new combinations are required to place in their proper genera 2 species formerly placed in the genus Vernonia: Critoniopsis feddemae (McVaugh) Villaseñor and Redonda-Martínez, and Lepidonia wendtiana (B. L. Turner) Redonda-Martínez and Villaseñor.
