Abstract
There are limited studies on the relationship between triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI index) and preeclampsia risk in advanced maternal age women. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between TyG-BMI index and the incidence of preeclampsia in advanced maternal age women.This was a retrospective cohort study. A total of 2,296 pregnant women aged ≧ 35 years were included in this study. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to assess the association between the TyG-BMI index and preeclampsia, adjusting for potential confounders. Subgroup analyses were conducted to explore the interaction between the TyG-BMI index and parity. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were generated to evaluate the predictive performance of the TyG-BMI index for preeclampsia.The TyG-BMI index was significantly positively associated with the risk of preeclampsia, demonstrating a dose-response connection. In the fully adjusted model, a one-standard deviation (SD) increase in the TyG-BMI index was associated with a 43% higher risk of preeclampsia (OR = 1.43; 95% CI: 1.25–1.65; P < 0.0001). Subgroup analysis revealed that the association was particularly strong in nulliparous women (OR = 2.21; 95% CI: 1.68–7.14; P < 0.001). The ROC curve analysis demonstrated that the TyG-BMI index had a moderate predictive value for preeclampsia, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.724 (95% CI: 0.696–0.756). The TyG-BMI index is significantly associated with an increased risk of preeclampsia in advanced maternal age women, particularly in nulliparous women.
