Abstract

An in vitro interference against Newcastle disease virus (NDV) test was demonstrated for the detection of bluecomb coronavirus (BCCV) in in vivo BCCV infected turkey embryo intestinal cell culture (TEICC). The significance of interference against Nescastle disease (IND) test for the rapid diagnosis of bluecomb was discussed. Similar interference was not observed either in in vitro BCCV infected TEICC or in BCCV infected turkey embryos. The NDV produced autointerference in TEICC inoculated with the initial dilutions of the virus.
