Abstract

Early initiation of growth hormone therapy is recommended in children with Turner syndrome if the child already has growth failure or has a high chance of short stature (1 guideline). Growth hormone treatment can be started at 45 mcg/kg/day to 50 mcg/kg/day (1 guideline). Monitor treatment by regular height measurements and assessment of levels of insulin-like growth factor-I (1 guideline). Continue treatment until the desired height is achieved or when no more growth potential remains (1 guideline).
