Abstract

In the title compound, [ReBr(C12H9IN 2)(CO)3], the coordination geometry of the ReI ion is a distorted fac-ReC3BrN2 octa-hedron, arising from the N,N′-bidentate ligand, a bromide ion and a facial arrangement of three carbonyl ligands. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings in the 4-iodo-N-(pyridin-2-yl-methylidene)aniline ligand is 46.2 (3)°. The bromide ion and its corresponding trans CO molecule are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.966 (3):0.034 (3) ratio.
