Abstract

This paper reviews the fundamentals of multidimensional multirate signal processing. Central to these discussions is the idea of generalized sampling-lattice. Topics discussed include nonrectangular decimators, interpolators, generalized DFT, and filter banks. The multidimensional polyphase decomposition is developed, with applications in decimation filtering and perfect reconstruction filter banks. © 1985 Indian Academy of Sciences.
