Abstract

This paper seeks to understand and describe how teacher training in digital proficiency can lead, simultaneously, to the enhancement of students’ digital competences. Rooted in a qualitative research matrix, we used the description of the training course and the analysis of the narratives of the teachers-trainees to analyze a teacher training experience that was brought about by the Portuguese Digital Teacher Training Plan. The results highlight the initial diagnosis and active experimentation as potentially relevant strategies for the enhancement of students’ digital competence.
