Health, inequality and child poverty in london

Abstract

In a country as wealthy as the UK, no child should live in poverty. Despite this the UK has one of the highest child poverty rates among Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries and the one of the lowest rates of child wellbeing in the EU.1 This shameful waste of childhood and squandering of human talent violates children's rights, and has massive implications for the health of London's children. © 2010 Royal College of General Practitioners.
