The acceptance level of the combination poster and pinball game as media promoting COVID-19 vaccination uptake in elementary school children and their parents

Abstract

Vaccination of primary school-age children is one of the current public health agendas. Public service advertisements have been widely studied for their effectiveness but are limited to social media. Print media, such as posters and game combinations, must be studied in this digital era. The media is also relatively easy, cheap, and affordable if implemented in various public places such as schools. This study analyzed the acceptance level of combination posters and pinball games as media promoting COVID-19 vaccination uptake in elementary school children and their parents. The research method uses cross-sectional. The total sample size is 130. Data on the level of media acceptance for both children and parents was collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed. There was no difference in the level of acceptance of the combined pinball game poster media based on attractiveness (p = 0.212), comprehension (p = 0.731), usage behavior (p = 0.481), and behavioral intentions (p = 0.690), both in 4th grade and 6th grade. The highest average score on the level of media acceptance by children was on the attractiveness and comprehension factors, with a score of 75.4 and 73.5. The highest levels of media acceptance by parents are on the comprehension factor (78.5) and attractiveness (75.5). Thus, the public service advertising medium as a combination pinball game poster is generally acceptable to children and their parents.
