Tipos de gerencia: el caso de las coordinaciones de posgrado en universidades del estado Zulia-Venezuela

Abstract

This research aims to identify organizational management types in university postgraduate programs from the state Zulia (Venezula). The methodology is quantitative, non-experimental, and field descriptive and transactional. A structured questionnaire is applied to 104 individuals, validated by 10 experts and with a reliability level of 0.857 (Cronbach’s Alpha method), indicating high reliability. The results show predominance in the use of models that are based on strategic planning, total quality, benchmarking, and reengineering. However, there is an almost non-existent participation of models focused on empowerment and the balanced scorecard (BSC). It is concluded that university leaders should adopt models that improve academic quality, organizational performance, and consolidate objectives through improved empowerment practices and a sustainable BSC, aligned with their management strategy.
