Abstract
Luminescent properties of Ce3+-Na+-Pb2+ codoped SrGa2S4 phosphor are investigated in this paper. We show that white light is generated when the (446 and 486 nm) blue bands of Ce3+ combine with the (592 nm) broad orange bands of Pb2+ via exciting SrGa2S4:Ce,Na,Pb by 360 nm irradiation. White light with varied hue, color temperature, and color rendering index can be easily tailored through varying Ce/Pb concentration ratio. These results indicate a promising application of SrGa2S4:Ce,Na,Pb as a single-phase white light-emitting phosphor in white light-emitting diodes.
