Abstract

There is a regrettably small connection between adult and paediatric pulmonologists, although children become adults and many of the diseases of adults have an origin in childhood. Naturally there are also many differences among the diseases of infants, children and adults. These are in the anatomy, the endoscopic picture, developmental disorders of the trachea and bronchi, etc. On the other hand foreign body aspiration is a common problem, and the chronic bronchitis of adults may begin in childhood or infancy. The problems of instruments and anaesthesia have also been discussed.
