Abstract

People with health anxiety often experience feelings of nervousness or panic while in high-stress environments. While various techniques such as aromatherapy, and therapeutic video games have been shown to be effective in reducing anxiety, few studies have explored the use of a combination of these techniques in a multisensory approach. In this paper, we propose "Lullaland", a therapeutic virtual reality game that incorporates a wireless diffuser to provide an immersive, multisensory experience designed to help reduce anxiety in medical waiting rooms.
