Digital tools in educational communication: A bridge between families and schools

Abstract

In the current technological context, the use of tools to enhance family-school communication has increased. This is the caswith digital agendas. However, despite the potential advantages these devices may offer, barriers to their use by both teachers and families persist. Families, in particular, express concerns about providing adequate parental mediation regardintheir children’s use of technology and emphasize the need for bidirectional communication with the educational center. Thresearch analyzes how these communication processes are established between both parties through technological meanTo this end, a case study was conducted, collecting quantitative and qualitative data through surveys and interviews wit237 families and 62 teachers. The data were analyzed statistically to assess the effectiveness and perceived barriers to communication through digital media. The results highlight the need to improve the accessibility and usability of these tools, awell as to establish training and pedagogical strategies to enhance the implementation of these technological resources. Thultimate goal is to reduce the digital divide, overcome fears, and foster effective and equitable communication.
