Abstract

The objective of this research work is to critically analyze the representations of teachers from Brazil and Colombia about the external evaluation policies implemented in both countries. In this sense, the perspective of Comparative Historical Studies was adopted within the theoretical-methodological matrix of Historical-Dialectical Materialism. Semi-directed interviews were conducted with a total of 30 teachers who worked in different areas of six public schools in Brazil and Colombia. The results showed that in both countries, around the external tests there is an agenda oriented to homogenize school daily life in order to make it economically, political and ideologically profitable and to the detriment of the professional teacher.
