Abstract

This research determines the main editorial content, social media, and visibility strategies that can improve the performance and reach of social sciences publications in Latin America. Based on semi-structured interviews with social media managers and editors of journals with the most significant growth prospects, weighted by the h index of the Scimago Journal Rank (SJR), the work identifies the preeminence of topics that connect with current issues. Staff shortages and budget limitations condition the development of strategies for dissemination and visibility of their content, which is generally perceived as excessively technical. On the other hand, artificial intelligence emerges as a tool with great potential but has not yet been incorporated into editorial and dissemination processes.
