Abstract

(Chemical Equation Presented) An uncommon structure: The novel title compounds (see scheme) were prepared and fully characterized. The tetranuclear complex contains a hexagonal Pd4Si3 core involving one central Pd atom, three outer Pd atoms, and three bridging Si atoms within the same plane, whereas the dumbbell-shaped octanuclear Pd complex is composed of two Pd4Si3 groups bridged by a diphosphine ligand. © 2009 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
