Um Olhar Sobre a Baixada: usos e representações sobre o poder local e seus atores

Abstract

Este artigo apresenta um olhar sobre a Baixada Fluminense a partir de suas dimensões política e cultural. Enfatizando a formação das redes políticas locais a partir do século XX e a lógica da relação entre violência e prática política, descreveremos a trajetória de um dos políticos atuais de maior influência na região, ressaltando como as representações sobre o que é a Baixada mudaram ao longo do tempo e quem são e qual o lugar das novas elites políticas dentro desse panorama. Emphasizing the constitution of local political networks in the 20th. century and the relations between violence and political practices, it describes the trajectory of one of the most influential politicians of the region in the last decade, pointing out how representations of the Baixada Fluminense have changed during these years, who the new elite is and what is their social standing.
