Abstract

This study analyzes and describes mathematical problem-solving skills in the Three Variable Linear Equation System (SPLTV) material in the online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic. The capacity to solve problems is a necessary skill for students learning mathematics. This study examines students' problem-solving ability using the Polya technique and mathematical problem-solving markers. This study analyzes the data using a descriptive qualitative research approach using data processing techniques, specifically by examining students' answers to Polya's problem-solving skill indicator questions by asking four questions. Students in class X SMA Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung in the 2020/2021 academic year were the study participants. Then six subjects were taken to analyze their mathematical problem-solving abilities. The study results obtained data that students with very high abilities are 15% or five people. Students with high abilities are ten people or 30%, students with moderate abilities are 22% or seven people. Students with low abilities are 18% or six people, students with meager abilities are 15% or five people. There are errors in problem-solving abilities, such as not describing what elements are known, questions from problems, unsystematic problem-solving planning processes, errors in calculations, and not concluding problem-solving, according to the analysis of problem-solving abilities.
