Abstract
The present work was conducted on 14 of local breed rabbits as well as on 12 New Zealand White rabbits. After preparing the specimens, dif-ferent methods and techniques were conducted in a trial to produce clean bony specimens. The most suitable method used in the present investigation was cleaning by Der-mestid Beetles then degreasing and bleaching using hydrogen peroxide. All characteristic features of the var-ious parts of the axial skeleton in the rabbit were described and dis-cussed with those recorded by other authors having performed earlier studies on rabbits and cats. No-menclature in this thesis was adopt-ed according to Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria (2005).
