Abstract

The ethical dimensions of the use of energy are vast and varied (political-ethical dimensions, poli-ethical, for those of us who think there is continuity between ethics and politics). After outlining a map of this field of problems, we fo-cus on the difficulties faced by energy transitions and argue that only by confronting a profound transformation of production methods and ways of life can the worst scenarios, perhaps, be avoided. Humble technics should be deployed in the frame-works of subsistence ecofeminism or barefoot ecosocialism.
