Abstract
Pravigard PAC (buffered aspirin and pravastatin sodium) may be the first in a new wave of "polypills" (Wald NJ, Law MR. A strategy to reduce cardiovascular disease by more than 80%. BMJ. 2003;326:1419-1425.) designed to reduce cardiovascular events by improving patient compliance via simplified drug regimens. By copackaging two of the most efficacious and commonly used medications for secondary prevention of cardiovascular events, the substantial proportion of patients who are not receiving the medications but who would benefit from them may potentially be reduced.
