Lest we forget: towards therapeutic amnesia

Abstract

Recent insights into the biological mechanisms underlying memory formation, including the idea that memory is malleable in the early stages, offer the tantalising prospect of a novel psychotherapeutic intervention for illnesses such as post-traumatic stress disorder.
