Abstract
In the last two decades, research on political economy in Mexico has shifted from broad comprehensive studies to increasingly specific topics. This document presents notable contributions to the subject by economists and political scientists that have generated a rich debate at the national and international level. The focus of this review is on the political patterns of democracy, dependency and development, formation of the State and the Rule of Law, inequality and social policy, government revenues and spending, and international linkages.
