Umgang mit Open-Access-Publikationsgebühren – Praxis und Perspektive in der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft

Abstract

The article reports on the activities of the Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft (Helmholtz Community), an association of 17 scientific, medical, and technical research centers in Germany, with regard to open access journals and open access publishing. It discusses financial and technical challenges to the open access model, particularly the issue of publication fees and research funding.
