Abstract

Created in 2007 the Minha Casa Minha Vida (My House My Life) program is the main public housing policy of social interest in Brazil. Aiming to know the perception of quality of life in program participants, the present study used the Brazilian Scale of Quality of Life. Considering a more positive perception of the quality of life by participants eight hypotheses were proposed, one for each dimension of the scale (Hedonism, Physical and health condition, Financial Condition, Social Acceptance, Family Relationships, Work and Employment, Hope in the Future and Access to Resources of Quality). The survey was realized with two groups, being 126 participants of the program and 123 non-participants. Test-t the Student was used to confirm the hypotheses. The results showed that in five of the eight dimensions of scale, the participating group has a more favorable perception than the non-beneficiary group.
