Abstract
Foot ulcers are a major cause of morbidity and impaired quality of life in Australians with diabetes and a major work load and cost for the Australian health care system. [1] This article develops a stepped approach (Fig. 1) and gives practical guidelines for ulcer preparation, dressing and protection which we hope will be useful in general practice.
