Traditional plays for early childhood education: An inventory for valuing social citizenship

Abstract

To extend and empower plays on early childhood education, we developed "Sociable". This learning model allows, for instance, teacher to improve early childhood education plays strategy for achieving social citizenship student behavior. A community-based participatory research approaches was adopted to identify the Indonesian traditional plays from Social Citizenship Behavior framework. We show that traditional plays from four location contain skills augmentation for mastering collaboration, ethics, sport and civility. The findings from this study would help teacher rethink the future role of Indonesian traditional plays as learning strategy in early childhood education.
