Abstract
This research presents the results of the analysis of a focal interview with Honduran journalists and a survey of students from Occidente region of Honduras to find out their behavior when young people consume information on gender violence from their phones, and their contribution or not to the spread of fake news. In a country with one of the highest death rates from gender-based violence in the world, the results show a certain caution of young people when it comes to viralizing dubious contents, and a marked concern of journalist about the treatment of gender violence in the media.
