Abstract

The topic of the digital twin has been widely investigated recently. However, few works superficially address its geometrical aspect. This paper attempts to clarify what it means to maintain the geometric coherence of a digital twin based on a taxonomy of geometric modifications. Each type of geometric change and existing capture solutions are reviewed. To conclude, the review encourages us to adopt an agile human-centric approach supported by extended reality technologies as a complement to automated supervision processes.
