Abstract

In the context of turbulent flows laden with inertial particles, the accurate estimation of preferential concentration is particularly relevant. We have recently proposed to use Voronoï diagrams to estimate concentration fields from two-dimensional imaging techniques implemented around wind tunnel experiments. Due to various experimental biases, the relevance of such an analysis becomes questionable. In this paper, we show the robustness of the Voronoï analysis with respect to the three more important identified biases possibly present in such experiments. © IOP Publishing Ltd and Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft.
