Abstract

This article tries to explain the Tawan KarangLaw which occurred in Bali in the 9th or 10th century until the entry of the Dutch colonials into the land of Bali. This law explains the right of the kingdoms in Bali to claim the ship and its contents which are stranded on the coast of their territory. This became a collision and a problem when many Dutch colonial ships were affected by this regulation. These conflicts then gave birth to various interpretations which later developed into warfare so that the colonial party wanted to force the abolition ofthe Tawan Karang law. The author on this occasion sought to explain based on the contents of the contract made by the Dutch Colonial
