Abstract

The main objective of this research was to determine the impact of inventory management on the reduction of logistics costs in companies of the industrial sector, during a period of 10 years, between 2012-2022, which comprises an exhaustive, protocolized, systematic and explicit evaluation of the literature of articles published in scientific journals. In order to gather information related to the research topic, several digital databases were consulted, such as: Dialnet, ScienceDirect, Redalyc, Scielo and Google Scholar. Within these, a total of 86 scientific articles were found, and 13 were selected based on the established inclusion and exclusion criteria (year of publication, language, type of study, relationship with the central research topic, among others). We also considered only scientific articles containing as variables and keywords: "Inventory management" and "Logistics costs", focused on industrial companies. For this reason, it is concluded that the application of inventory management in the organizations of the industrial sector allows reducing logistics costs, the amount of defective products, nonconforming products, and others. As a consequence, it generates the improvement of the quality of services and/or products, the increase of productive efficiency and the optimization of resources.
