Abstract

Novel symmetric double quinoline derivatives were synthesized using the Vilsmeier-Haack reagent and symmetric double acetamides of 1,1′-bis(R,4- aminophenyl)cyclohexane/methane. The structure of the intermediates (SDA-1 to SDA-3) and final products (SDQ-1 to SDQ-3) were supported by UV, FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectroscopic measurements. Compounds SDA-1 to SDA-3 and SDQ-1 to SDQ-3 possess moderate to good antibacterial and antifungal activities. ©ARKAT USA, Inc.
