Abstract

Salacca zalacca or what is called snakefruit is one of the plants that belongs to the palm family. One part of this plant that can be used is the fruit culvert. The skin of this snakefruit can be cooked as a drink that can be a cure for diabetes. In this study, phytochemical screening was carried out to identify secondary metabolite compounds contained in the skin of snakefruit (Salacca zalacca). The results of phytochemical screening of snakefruit peels show that the skin of snakefruit (Salacca zalacca) contains secondary metabolites of alkaloids, flavonoids and saponins, but does not contain terpenoids and steroids.
